SUNABEDA – THE HEAVEN OF MY CHILDHOOD
It was the year 1971 and the month of October when in a small hamlet very confined to a homogeneous cosmopolitan population in the southern part of the state of Odisha I was born to the family of Tripathy’s as the youngest child to be received by 2 sisters and parents . A winter day early of 4th October which was beginning the week by a busy Monday , I arrived on this earth blessed to have a journey which has been phenomenal , exciting , loving and dramatic as I dwell with the emotions of a human being participating in the feelings of attachment .
The town of sunabeda hosts a cosmopolitan diverse culture of India as majority of the population make their living from a factory that manufacturing Airplanes for the country and this has been a primary livelihood there , a minor portion of the people would form the ancillary support business for the lively hood of the major population in the form of Markets , Shops . During my days there wasn’t a restaurant and that is something with which I grew up in the 20 years of my life . The belt boasted of a natural greenery , a harmonious coexistence of all kind of animals given the forest region that en capsuled this quiet town . We lived in a world were each family of the town knew each other and were groomed with values of respect to the seniors , humbleness , calm while we were doctrine with the knowledge of science , arts , language in a school called Vyomayana Samastha Vidyalaya ( VSV) http://www.vsvidyalaya.in/ that was sincere in its intentions to nurture students from their institution to create stalwarts in their profession across the Globe… so true to today as there are numerous of the students who studied in the school in the yester years are today holding positions of leadership , skills , defense or the bureaucracy of the country .
Those days we did not have the Television or the Internet or Mobile , but had communication with each other close to heart , every community celebration spirited a festival spirit in all of us and that imbibed us values , feelings relationships for each other . In the 14 years of my span of my life , I was fortunate and blessed to be with awesome souls who became my friends in those days as we tread path of happiness , sorry , joy , pain , challenges , envy , prank all as one soul .. Today with the evolution of the internet and connectivity , reconnecting with all these childhood souls has been the blessed part of my life where even after 27 years we departed to make our future , we have the same fire , passion , love and purity for each other that which was ingrained in our formative years of life . The reunions today in any number has been hedonically intoxicating where we drive back to our days rewinding the time machine .
I lived for 20 years in this place before I began to move on to take on the tough world and challenge to the challenges life gives to us when we pursue to establish in life .
From the 4th of October 1971 as I began my life with all lovely people around to the 17th day of February 1994 when I officially signed off from the place with a heavy heart , significant and important milestones of my life was etched with the help of my family , friends and the town itself
As I progress in the journey of my life , Sunabeda will remain close to my heart and each time I hear any
news of this city , I enter into a nostalgic phase with flashbacks of my life in this heaven . I was blessed to stay in heaven on earth with angels as friends for the first 20 years of my life
